Parry, John H.
John H. Parry, Jr., in the embrace of his loving family, passed into the hands of God on March 10, 2013 in Jupiter, FL. Formerly of Binghamton and Troy, NY. The son of Marion Cundey Parry and John H. Parry of Gaylord St., he attended Binghamton schools and graduated from Binghamton North in 1955, where he excelled in Football and Basketball. In 1959, he graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY, where he was a member of Theta Xi Fraternity and Captain of the RPI Football team. Commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant, he then served in US Army Transportation Research Command and received a Master's Degree in Personnel Management from George Washington University in 1961. Jack returned to Troy and was the owner of Brown Printing Company. He was a former member of the Troy Club, The Rotary Club and The Country Club of Troy. He was active in fundraising activities for RPI and a long time supporter of the Athletic Dept. He served as Vice-President of The Troy Youth Hockey Association and raised funds to support that organization. He was a life-long fan of hockey, basketball, football and tennis. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Patricia; a son, John H. Parry, III; daaughter-in-law, Dawn and four grandchildren, Jessica, Samantha, Trevor and Cooper all of Clifton Park, NY; a brother, Robert A. Parry, formerly of Binghamton, and several nieces and nephews. A sister Eunice Parry Hertzog, died in 2011. A long time summer resident of Thousand Island Park at the St. Lawrence River, where his remains will be placed. A Memorial Service will be held, Saturday, June 29, 2013, at 11:00 AM in the Tabernacle at TI Park with Reception to follow.
