John Klym Jr., 90 years, loving husband of Pauline (Grech) Klym for sixty-six years, entered into eternal rest on Monday morning, July 22, 2013 at the Susquehanna Nursing Home, Johnson City. John was born on March 13, 1923 in Binghamton to the late John and Julia Klym. John was an active member of St. John's Ukrainian Orthodox Church and St. John's Memorial Center. He was a passionate athlete; playing semi-pro baseball, fishing, golfing and an avid NY Yankee fan. He was an Army veteran of WWII serving in the Pacific Theatre and a member of the Johnson City American Legion Post #758. He was a former employee of the E-J Corporation and a retired expeditor for the I.B.M. Corporation, Endicott. In addition to his wife, Pauline; John is survived by two daughters and their spouses, Sharon (Marc) Italiano of Carlsbad, NM, and Vickie (Daniel) Santalucia of Richmond, VA; six grandchildren, Adrienne, Maria, James, Anthony, Nicholas, and David; a great grandson, Braiden; his brother, Eugene (Audrey) Klym of Johnson City; his sister, Betty (Bill) Hlavac of Swoyersville, PA, his sister-in-law, Steffie (Joe) Kolota of Binghamton and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Saturday, 9:30am at the Chopyak-Scheider Funeral Home, 326 Prospect Street, Binghamton and 10am St. John Ukrainian Orthodox Church 1 St. John's Parkway, Johnson City with The Rev. Father Ivan Synevskyy officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday 4-7pm at the Chopyak-Scheider Funeral Home where Rev. Synevskyy will offer a prayer service at 5pm. Memorial contributions may be made in John's memory to either St. John Ukrainian Orthodox Church or Cemetery Funds.
