Endwell: John Marko, 83, of Endwell, passed away Tuesday afternoon, March 26, 2013, in Orlando, FL. He was predeceased by his parents, George and Suzanna Marko; his sister, Mary Cornick; and his brother, George Marko. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Elizabeth (Merges) Marko, Endwell; his nephew, Gary (Linda) Cornick, VA, and their children, Mark (Jennifer) Cornick, Julia (Kurt) Roettiger and Andrew (Lisa) Cornick; also several godchildren and many cousins. He was a member of St. Joseph's Church, Endicott, a veteran of the US Navy serving during the Korean War aboard the USS Wisconsin, a member of the Vestal American Legion Post #89 and its Last Man's Club, and a retired IBM Owego employee. John enjoyed golfing, spending the winter months in Ormand Beach, FL and visiting Ogunquit, ME. Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral service on Monday, April 1, 2013, 1:00 p.m. at the Leon Pucedo Funeral Home, Inc., 1905 Watson Blvd., Endicott, with the Rev. Fr. Charles Opondo-Owara, Pastor of St. Joseph's Church, officiating. Burial will be held Tuesday, April 2, 2013, at 9:30 a.m. in Slovak Catholic Cemetery. There will be no calling hours prior to the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in memory of Mr. Marko may be made to St. Joseph's Church, 207 Hayes Ave., Endicott, NY 13760.
