94, of Hallstead, PA entered into rest on July 16, 2014. He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Betty. He was predeceased by his first wife of 51 years, Blanche Knight Sturek in 1991, a son, Douglas Arthur Sturek, brothers, Frank, John, and Max, and two sisters, Mary and Albina. He is survived by his daughters, Nancy Foster and Marla Bisner; seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; a sister, Alice Grasso; and many nieces and nephews, including Danny Knight. Joe worked at the Hallstead Foundry for six years and then for Krohler's Manufacturing, Binghamton for 39 years. He also painted houses and did wood working during those years in his spare time. Joe was a member of the Rod and Gun Club since 1936. He proudly served with the US Navy during WWII. Joe was a life member of both the American Legion Post #357 and the V.F.W. Post #6223. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. Joe was always busy doing something, canning, gardening, or helping his neighbors. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 21, 2014 at the Tuttle-Yeisley Funeral Home, Inc., Hallstead, PA. Interment will be made in St. Lawrence Cemetery. Friends may call from 3-5 p.m. Sunday afternoon. The family prefers memorial contributions in lieu of flowers to the PA Fish and Game Commission, the American Legion Post #357, or the V.F.W. Post #6223.
