Mark David Lobacz, 57, of Woodstock, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 following a brief illness. He was predeceased by his father, Chester F. Lobacz and sister, Maureen Lobacz. Survivors include his son, Daniel T. Lobacz and fiancée, Andrea Di Trani of Brooklyn, NY; his mother, Rita Claire Lobacz of Binghamton, brothers and sister-in-law Larry and Jeri Lobacz of Acworth, GA; William Lobacz, Richard Lobacz, both of Binghamton. Sisters and brother-in- law, Therese Lobacz, of Binghamton, Eileen and John Aswad of Chenango Forks. Also nieces and nephews, Michael, Marisa and husband Andy, Matthew, Dimitri, Antonia, Shannon, Katie, Mari, Kali, and Johnny, and numerous other relatives and loving friends. Mark was born in Binghamton, NY on March 22, 1956 to Chester Francis and Rita Detrick Lobacz. He was a graduate of Chenango Valley High School, where he was a member of the varsity basketball team and later attended Broome Community College. He was a past governor and lifetime member of the Loyal Order Moose, and had recently been employed with Loma Industries as a Service Engineer. He was a devoted father and uncle, had a great love for his family and friends, and for his beloved New York Yankees. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Francis of Assisi Church, Hillcrest, on Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at 11:00 AM. The family will receive friends at the church on Tuesday from 9:30 AM until the time of the Mass. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery.
