Husband, Maryann

Binghamton: Maryann Husband went to meet the Lord on Friday, July 18, 2014. She was predeceased by her beloved mother Anna L. Palmer and her treasured step-father James H. Palmer. Maryann is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 56 years, Donald E. Husband; her children, Donald G. and Sally Husband, Cynthia Husband-Cohen, Carla Husband and son-in-law Curtis Hadlick. Also surviving are six granddaughters, Nicole and Adam Sandell, Kristy Husband and fiancé Eric Johnston, Katie and Patrick Hamlin, Lacey Cohen, Caryn Hadlick and Colleen Hadlick. Maryann also had several dear cousins and many wonderful friends, too many to list. Maryann was a former employee of Weston's, Grants, and Leighton's Pharmacy. She was the owner/operator of The Dogwood Tree, her gift shop. Along with her husband, Don, they opened and operated Don's Ice Cream Palace for several years. Most recently she worked at Barnes Flowers and then M&D-R-Nuts. She went on to volunteer at Lourdes Hospital; even while she was sick she touched many lives. Maryann graduated from Binghamton Central High School in 1955. She was an active member of Saints John and Andrew Church for many years. She was a member of the Knights of Columbus Peter T. Campon Council 206 Ladies Auxiliary. Maryann was a loving mother, a loyal employee and became friends with nearly everyone she met. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Maryann's family would like to thank Dr. Stephen Paushter and Dr. Arun Sheth for their years of care. Special thanks go to the many dear nurses and staff members of Broome Oncology. In her last months, the caring and devoted nurses and staff on Lourdes' 1 Ross, 1 West, Hospice and Bridgewater 4A cared for Maryann as if she were their own family. A Funeral Mass will be offered at the Church of Saints John and Andrew, Vestal Avenue, Binghamton Tuesday at 10 a.m. Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main St., Binghamton Monday from 4-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Maryann's memory to Lourdes Hospice Program, 4102 Old Vestal Road, Vestal, NY 13850 or Traci's Hope, or any other local breast cancer organization.
