Vestal: Maureen A. Sauter - "You are loved"

Maureen Ann Sauter, age 80, of Castle Gardens, Vestal passed away Sunday August 18, 2013 after a brief illness. She was predeceased by her son, Craig Begbie and her parents, Andrew and Anna Sauter. Maureen is survived by her daughter Kathleen Begbie of Apalachin, NY, daughter and son-in-law Joanne (Begbie) and Michael Drobysh of Middletown, NY, daughter-in-law Martha (Hord) Begbie of Rochester MI and her sister Helen Coyle of Florida, NY. She has 4 grandchildren, Michael and Andrew Drobysh (Middletown, NY) and Eric (Queens, NY) and Christina Reisenauer (Apalachin, NY) plus nieces and nephew Elaine Coyle, Alison Aversa, Janice Bonagura, Diane Coyle-Russell and Richard Coyle, all who loved her very much. Maureen was born in NYC on September 8, 1932, grew up in Nyack, NY and moved to Monticello, NY in 1957. She graduated from Green Mountain College, VT and later received her BA and MA in Education from SUNY New Paltz, NY. Maureen was an elementary school teacher for 26 years at the Monticello NY Central School district. She moved to Rochester, MI in 2005 where she made many new friends and started the "PMS Lunch Bunch". Maureen loved her family, travelling, reading, cooking, her pets and acting - Sullivan County Repertory Theater and at the OPC in Rochester, MI. Mom was a very smart, articulate woman, with an irreverent sense of humor and our best friend. She will be sorely missed and is loved by all. Following cremation, Maureen will be interred next to her son Craig in Eastlawn Cemetery in Lake Orion, MI. Persons wishing to make a contribution in Maureen's memory may donate to the Juvenile Diabetes Association. Thank you to the staff at The Hearth at Castle Gardens, Vestal, NY for making Mom's 2 years back in New York state a happy time and the staff at Riverview Manor, Owego, NY for her final care and comfort.
