Henry, Nancy J. (Utter)

Apalachin: Nancy J. (Utter) Henry, born June 18, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 9, 2014, at the home of her mother and surrounded by her family. Nancy fought a hard and courageous battle against Stage IV Breast cancer. She was predeceased by her dad, Charles D. Utter. She is survived by her mother, Joyce E. Utter; brother, Bob Utter of Binghamton; her sister, Patty Lee (Utter) Lewis and her boyfriend, Mark Zimmerman of Endicott; daughter, Kristen (Steve) Gallo; and four precious grandchildren, Adriana, Tyler, Alexis, and Brandon of Apalachin; several cousins an aunt and uncle; several great friends including Marcy, Mary, Stacy, Roxanna, Jarol; her adopted sister, Chrissy; and Buttercup, her cat. Nancy graduated from Johnson City High School and then attended Broome Community College. She worked hard her entire life (Chenango Industries, Hadco/Sanmina, and E.I.T.), helping provide for her daughter and spoiling her grandchildren. She was also a graduate of the first class of the YMCA's LiveStrong program for cancer survivors. A memorial service will be held at noon Saturday at Root Funeral Home, 23 N. Chenango St., Greene, NY 13778. Friends of the family may call Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at Root Funeral Home. Please feel free to wear pink in support of breast cancer awareness.
