PAUL V. REED
86, of Great Bend, PA entered into rest on December 21, 2012 at home surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Jessie. Also surviving are their children, Thomas and Ana Reed, Columbia, SC, Jon and Jan Reed, Great Bend, PA, Joseph and Karel Reed, Pendleton, SC, Marty and Terrie Reed, Great Bend, PA, James and Rebecca Reed, Great Bend, PA, and Loretta and Scott Allen, Selma, NC; 22 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; a sister and brother-in-law, Mary Catherine and Walter A. Scott, Londonderry, VT; sister-in-law, Fredericka Reed, Framingham, MA; and several nieces and nephews. Paul graduated from Great Bend High School and Eckels College of Mortuary Science. He then served with the United States Navy during World War II. Upon returning home he was employed as a licensed funeral director. He then accepted a position with IBM and was employed for 31 years. Paul was a life member of the Great Bend Hose Co. No. 1 for 70 years, and served on the Great Bend Borough Council for many years. He loved to hunt, fish, and spend time with his family. He was always busy working on something, fixing the house, working in the garage, or on the cottage. Paul loved football, especially watching the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 24, 2012 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Great Bend, PA. Interment will be made in St. Lawrence Cemetery. Friends may call from 3-6 p.m., Sunday, at St. Lawrence Church's Trinity Center. Arrangements are under the direction of the Tuttle-Yeisley Funeral Home, Inc.
