Phillip B. Cleary, 84, formerly of Binghamton, died Thursday, May 3, 2012. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mary Lou (Kalivoda) Cleary, Milford, MA; four children and their spouses: Suzanne and David Langley, Peekskill, NY, Phyllis and Mark McAuliffe, Franklin, MA, Cathleen and Brian Riedel, Franklin, MA and Thomas and Julieann (Klaczany) Cleary, Macungie, PA; seven grandchildren: Ryan, Patrick and Kelly McAuliffe; Alison and Jack Riedel and Jennifer and Megan Cleary. He was a graduate of Union-Endicott High School, served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and was a former member of St. Andrew's Church, Binghamton. He was a long-time proprietor of Sunset Lanes in Kirkwood. He was elected to the New York State Bowling Hall of Fame, as well as the Binghamton and Endicott Bowling Association Halls of Fame. He will be lovingly remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at 9:15 a.m. at the Bednarsky Funeral Home, Inc., 96 Glenwood Ave. and 10:00 a.m. at SS John and Andrew Church, Binghamton. Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the , CNY Chapter, 401 Hayes Ave., Endicott, NY 13760 to honor Mary Lou.
