Booth, Sr., Richard Bates

Binghamton: Richard Bates "Dick" Booth, Sr., 86, of Binghamton, NY, passed away Tuesday, October 1, 2013, in Land O' Lakes, FL. He was born in Binghamton, NY to John and Mabel Booth. Dick served in the United States Navy during WWII; he graduated from Binghamton High School, Broome Community College, Harpur College and was a retired salesman. He was an active member of Trinity Memorial Church and a member of the Kalurah Shrine and many other organizations over the years. He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Barbara Saint; grandson, Nathaniel Backes. Dick is survived by his wife of 63 years, Carol; son, Richard, Jr. and his wife, Triste of Endwell, NY; four daughters, Deborah Booth Backes of Estero, FL, Nancy Loch and her husband, Col. L. Scott of Clemmons, NC, Catherine Greek and her husband, Bill of Land O' Lakes, FL and Barbara Wilson and her husband, David of Land O' Lakes, FL; eleven grandchildren, Andrew Greek (Stephanie), Alison and Abigail Greek, Lt Joshua Loch (Karlee), Hannah Loch, Cameron Backes, Kyle, Bryce and Payton Wilson, Broghan and Lowen Booth; and special extended family and friends. Dick was a wonderful son, husband, father, grandfather and friend. His greatest joy was being with his family. He will be deeply missed. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
