 Butler, Richard "Dick"
Owego, NY: Richard J. "Dick" Butler, 81, passed away on Wednesday February 27, 2013 at Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre, PA. He is survived by his sweetheart, Marilee Geibel; his children, Dave Butler, Owego, Colleen and Tom Murray, Owego, Todd Butler, Candor, Ricky and Jess Butler, Sayre, Danny Butler, Nichols, Shannon Butler, Owego, Kelly Butler, Nichols; his grandchildren, Sara, Adam, Brian and his wife Emily, Brandon, Madison, Mason, Riley, Breana, Jenna; his great grandson, Carter; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Richard J. "Rich" Butler, Jr.; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Ida and Bud Bennett, Mina Marie and Chuck Alden. Dick was born in Scranton, PA on April 25, 1931, the son of Daniel and Mina Clementine (Lord) Butler. He was a Veteran of the Korean War, serving with the US Air Force as a member of the 8th Fighter Bomber Wing. Dick enjoyed hunting, especially with the Ballou Road Hunting Club. He also enjoyed fishing and the fishing trips to Black Lake with the guys. Dick loved bowling, camping, playing cards and was also an avid fan of the Phillies and Eagles. He enjoyed making people laugh and was an amazing story teller. Dick touched many lives throughout the years and had many good friends. A Funeral Service will be held at Richards Funeral Home, Rte. 17c West, Owego, NY on Sunday March 3, 2013, at 2:00PM with Rev. Philip Jordan officiating. Family and friends are invited to visit at Richards Funeral Home on Saturday March 2, 2013 from 4:00PM until 7:00PM.
