Cook, Sandra Ann (Ford)
Rev. Sandra Ann (Ford) Cook, 64, of Clearwater, passed away Monday, September 30, 2013, at Palm Garden of Pinellas Nursing Horne after a long fight with brain cancer. She was predeceased by her parents, Roy and Joyce Ford. Sandi is survived by her husband Dan of 42 years, son and daughter-in-law Scot and Heather Cook of Apalachin, NY; son and daughter-in-law Bill and Susanne Rood of Princeton, NJ; sister and brother-in-law Donna and Dominic Di Stefano of Binghamton, NY; eight grandchildren, Sienna, Emily, Kimberly, David, and Sarah Cook, Peyton, Dylan and Ronin Rood; a niece and several nephews. She was born in Binghamton and graduated from Chenango Valley High School. She attended Eastern Baptist College and Grand Canyon University. She was a Fund Development Director for Easter Seals and Girl Scouts of America; Executive Director for Literacy Volunteers; Program Manager for Catholic Charities; Reporter for religious newspaper; founded Helping Hands Ministry and ran its food pantry in Binghamton; Activities Director tor Encore Senior Living. She was a member of Women's Aglow Fellowship, American Association of Christian Counselors, National Night Out, Southern Tier Crime Prevention Council and National Society of Fund Raising Executives. She loved art, writing, helping others and fishing with her dog Bear-Bear. Sandi would like to thank everyone at Palm Garden of Pinellas for their love, caring and commitment. What would make Sandi smile is for each of us to help someone in need. A celebration of her life will be held at a time and place to be determined.
