"GG" went to Heaven peacefully at the age of 88 in Rohnert Park, CA on 1/3/2013. Barbara was born to Iva and John Morton of Lewiston, Idaho on April 7, 1924, graduated from the University of Washington and had a long career of 40 years. as a Registered Nurse. Barbara fell in love with her boss, Robert William Johnson, a San Francisco school teacher and the summer camp director and married two weeks later. They were married over 30 years. She said she still got butterflies in her stomach when he came home and she longed to be with him again. They are celebrating their reunion in Heaven. Barbara was an amazing mother, grandmother and GG. She was well known for her extraordinary sense of humor and quick wit and love for people. Barbara is survived by her daughter Nancy Blasingame and son-in-law Ron Blasingame of Santa Rosa, son Bruce Johnson and daughter- in-law Jill Johnson of Sonoma, daughter Dorothy Johnson Zarate-Piombo and son-in-law Alan of Rohnert Park, Grandchildren Megan Zarate of Santa Rosa, Alexandria Riley of Santa Rosa, Reyna Matthews of Oakland, Samie Blasingame of Long Beach, Kate McFarland of Sacramento, Robbie, Phoebe and Lauren Johnson of Sonoma and Great Granddaughter Evelynn Zarate of Santa Rosa as well as her best friend and sister-in-law, Eudora Peggy Johnson of Minneapolis and all of her nephews and nieces and extended family. A private family service will be held Friday, January 18 at the Mt. Tamalpais Cemetery and Mortuary where her ashes will be placed with her husband's. The family is having a celebration of her life at her last residence, Merrill Gardens, 4855 Snyder Lane, Rohnert Park on Sunday, January 20 at 3:00 p.m.
