At age 84, Daryl Davis passed away on January 19 at the family ranch, in Sebastopol, where he was born. Daryl spent most of his life in Sebastopol. He attended Pacific Christian Academy in Graton, and received his college education at Pepperdine University, graduating from San Jose State. He served in the U.S. Army, stationed in Oahu, Hawaii. Daryl enjoyed the challenge of business, serving his community and working the ranch on his tractor. He worked as an insurance agent for 24 years and founded Appletown Insurance in Sebastopol. During that time he also co-founded Round the World Travel, the first travel agency in west county. He was active in the Sebastopol Optimist and Rotary Clubs, and was Sebastopol Chamber of Commerce "Citizen of the Year" in 1996. Daryl is survived by his loving and caring wife Marie, children Alan Davis (Pamela), Susan Maddox (Harold) and Keri Claxton (James) and Marie's children Tina Setrish and Jack Setrish (Joelle Amand). He leaves eight grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, in-laws and friends devoted to his care and happiness.
