Edward Similewicz passed away peacefully on June 23, 2014 at the age of 95. Beloved husband of the late Therese; loving father to Diane (Tom) Miller, Gloria (Pete) Aarhus and Marilyn (Philip) Boldt; grandfather of six and great-grandfather of nine. Ed served his country honorably in the U.S. Marine Corp as a Corporal during World World II. He was a Sharpshooter and received the high honor of a Purple Heart from injuries while on Iwo Jima. After 30 years, Ed retired from the painting profession. He liked to fish, travel, enjoy weekends at Doran Beach, and loved to putter in his garage. People enjoyed Ed's sense of humor because he would make jokes. He always felt there was not enough laughter in the world. Ed will be dearly missed by Chippy, his dog, family and friends. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, July 9, 2014, at 1 p.m. at Santa Rosa Memorial Park.
