Major James L. Manes (USAF Ret.) passed away November 12, 2012 after a long illness. He was 80. He was a decorated pilot who was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, an honor given to those who show extraordinary heroism during aerial flight. During his long military career he also received two Bronze Stars, the Air Medal, and the Vietnam Service Medal. When he returned to civilian life he moved his family to California and enjoyed taking them on vacations to explore historical places. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Fay, and his son David. He was predeceased by his daughter Linda.
