77 of Santa Rosa, CA died June 23, 2014, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Bangor, Maine and moved to California in May 1964 where he was employed as a Police officer for the city of Cloverdale. In 1966 he became a deputy with the County of Sonoma Sheriff's Officer where he rose through the ranks as Lieutenant and retired in after being injured in an auto accident while on duty. Joe obtained his Masters Degree from Sonoma State University. He taught classes at Santa Rosa Junior College and Sonoma State University. He was also a Master Mason. He was a certified financial planner and became a Real Estate Broker after retiring. For two decades he owned operated ABC Properties in Santa Rosa. His interests were many, but Hold Em Poker was his number one hobby. He won several tournaments and made many friends in the process. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Shirley Bean Thibodeau, his son Joseph E Thibodeau, Jr. of Forest Knolls, CA, his daughter Rainy Annette Robinson and Son in Law David Robinson of Antioch, CA, two granddaughters, Mercedes Robinson, of Santa Rosa, CA, and Royce Robinson, of Antioch, CA, two great granddaughters, Miley Grace Halliburton, Santa Rosa, CA, and Layla Faith Sutton, of Santa Rosa, CA, nieces Deborah Quam of Virginia City, NV, Steve Thibodeau of Sebastopol, CA, Laura Thibodeau Back of Santa Rosa, CA, and Mark Thibodeau of San Francisco, CA. A Celebration of Life memorial will be held 11 a.m.- 2 p.m. on July 5th, 2014 at Eggan & Lance, 1540 Mendocino Avenue, Santa Rosa, CA 707-545-3747
