Kathy passed into the Other World on March 11th, 2014, at the age of 67 after a courageous, 16 month long battle with breast cancer. First and foremost, Kathy loved her family and was very proud of each of them: husband of 47 years, Ed, and daughters Melissa Wallin and Lindsay Wallin. Kathy was especially pleased to have raised her daughters on the same property where she grew up and upon which she and Ed built their home in 1977. Over the years their home evolved into a place where friends and neighbors could stop by anytime for a cup of coffee, a beer, lunch or impromptu dinner. It was also a place where Kathy could indulge her love of entertaining. Her parties were not to be missed! In 2003 Kathy and Ed were given the Service to Youth award by the City of Sebastopol and the Volunteer of the Year Award by the high school district for their work on Analy Project Graduation. Prior to that, Kathy had been on the Twin Hills PTA for ten years, and previous to that she was President of Analy Nursery School for two years. Since 1984 Ed, Kathy and daughters, along with a dedicated group of friends and neighbors, have operated Wallinfarm Christmas Tree Farm at their home on Ferguson Road in Sebastopol. In addition to immediate family, Kathy is survived by brothers-in-law John Haydon of Chino Valley, AZ, Charlie Wallin and wife Debbi of Sebastopol, CA, Ray Wallin and wife Uva of Elk Grove, CA, and Melissa's fiancé, Seth Hanley, as well as nieces and a nephew. She also leaves behind her beloved adopted granddaughters, Jocelyn and Fiona. Memorial services are pending. The family suggests contributions to the Analy Education Foundation and the THAB Education Foundation.
