Santa Rosa - Marjorie "Margie" Ann Mason, age 81, passed away on Monday, June 16, 2014 at Emeritus in Santa Rosa. Born in Brooklyn, NY June 26, 1932 to John Peter and Winifred Wells Stickeler, she graduated from SUNY New Paltz and became an elementary school teacher. Known for her great sense of humor, Margie enjoyed friends' and family gatherings, Christmas, antique collecting, playing the piano, travel and summers at Manasquan, NJ. Margie had two children, Allison and Todd, with her first husband Herman Hartmann. On June 7, 1986, she married Laurence Delvin Mason with whom she shared 28 special years. Margie is survived by her husband Laurence of Bodega Bay; daughter Allison (John) Spiller of San Marcos, son Todd Hartmann of San Jose, stepson Kim (Maribet) Mason of San Jose, stepdaughter Connie (Lee) Hagey of El Cajon, stepdaughter Pam Higgins of Martinez; and three granddaughters: Taryn Spiller, Cassie Hagey and Danielle Higgins. She is also survived by her brother John Peter (Fentriss) Stickeler, Jr., of Fleischmanns NY; cousin Ruth Eichorn of Sea Girt, NJ; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, Margie was preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law Merle and Alvin Malthaner; and stepson Martin Higgins. A life celebration for family, friends and caregivers will be held at a later date.
