Born to Herman and Elsie Brodersen on August 9th, 1923, in Petaluma California, recently celebrated her 90th birthday with family and friends before passing peacefully on September 2, 2013, in Sparks, NV after a brief illness surrounded by immediate family. Known to many as Margie, Marge or "Midge", she spent her childhood and youth in Petaluma and the Bay area, where she grew up during the lean years of the Depression era with four brothers and a sister. She graduated from high school and went on to work in a retail business before working in the Naval Shipyards during World War II. Shortly after the war, Marge came to Reno, NV in 1947, to establish her residency, where she became enamored by and married Rual ("RB", "Beezer", or "Tex") Meredith, a Reno fireman. During their 44 years together they raised a family of two boys and three girls. As a homemaker, she was as devoted to her family as they are to her. She excelled as a seamstress and never failed to clothe her daughters and sons with exceptionally well made outfits throughout their school years and beyond and use her sewing talents in home décor. Her involvement with her children's activities lead her to be an active PTA member and Historian for Sierra Vista Elementary, as well as a Cub Scout co-leader, Brownie Troop, and Blue Bird Troop leader. She never failed to support her children in their school projects, sports, and extracurricular activities. In addition to her outstanding sewing abilities, she was accomplished at crocheting, embroidery, and canning which she acquired from her upbringing, as well as gardening. Her love of flowers, birds, and cats was evident throughout her home. Her sons Donald (Pam) of Sparks, Bryce (Nancy) of Reno, and daughters Darlene Meredith of Reno and Cheryl Pyatt (Greg) of Elko, survive Marjorie, along with her sister Lucille of Petaluma, and grandchildren Trina Johnson (Seth) of Incline Village, Cody Meredith (Shannon) of Sparks, Natalie Meredith of Sparks, Michelle Reed (Nick) of Reno, and two great grandchildren Alexander and Sean Reed, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband RB (Beezer), her daughter Eileen, her parents, and brothers Alfred, Harry, Ernie, and Leroy Brodersen. A day will not pass that she won't be lovingly remembered for being a wonderful Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, friend, and neighbor. She will be dearly missed. A public viewing will be held from Noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday, September 10 at O'Brien-Rogers & Crosby Funeral Home, 600W Second St., Reno, NV. A 1 o'clock Memorial Service at the funeral home will be followed by interment at Mountain View Cemetery and a reception. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Mary's Hospice, 429 Elm St., Reno, NV 89503, or a .
