63 of Ukiah, Ca. passed away suddenly on July 3rd , 2013. He will always be remembered by those who knew him. Marvin was born July 17th, 1949 in Petaluma, CA. He enlisted in the Marine Corps, became a scout sniper and was honorably discharged with a rank of Lance Corporal. Marvin dedicated his life to his family and community. He received national recognition for his work with Toys for Tots of Mendocino County, was involved with the Devil Pups program of California, volunteered with the Mendocino Search and Rescue team at the sheriff's department and was a tremendous advocate for the VFW. Marvin is survived by his wife Jane, his sons Marc and Marvin Jr., father LeRoy, brother Tim, sister Candice, grandchildren Kevin and Bradley and great grandchild Isiah. In lieu of flowers donations can be made at Mendo Lake Credit Union in care of Marvin's Memorial Fund. Viewing will be held on Wednesday, July 10th from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Eversole Mortuary. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 11th at 11 a.m. at the Trinity Baptist Church 900 So. Dora St. Burial will be held at the Ukiah Cemetery. A reception will follow services at the VFW building 293 Seminary Ave. until 6 pm. Arrangements are under the direction of the Eversole Mortuary.
