Was born March 2, 1925. He was raised in Laramie, Wyo and entered the air force in 1943 upon graduating from high school. He landed on Omaha Beach and was injured in Belgium during the Battle of the Bulge, resulting in a broken neck. After the service he went back to Laramie and married his high school sweetheart Bonnie Davidson in 1946. He received his bachelors and Masters degree from the University of Wyoming. His son William was born in 1950 and daughter Jeanie in 1953. He taught school and coached basketball for six years in Wyoming and thirty in Santa Rosa. He was a member of the Masonic lodge and the California teachers Association. He and Bonnie were married 67 years. Robert enjoyed fishing, dancing, gardening, cards and music.
