Passed away on September 10, 2013 in Santa Rosa, CA after a short illness. Until the end of his life, Roy had a song in his heart and hope for a better tomorrow. He loved everyone and everyone who knew him considered him family. Roy was born in New York on July 21,1923 to Harry and Ethel Cohen and was raised in Brooklyn. After graduating from Tilden High School, Roy attended New York University, where, after a four-year interruption to serve in the Army during World War II, he earned a degree in accounting. In 1946, he married Helene Rosenberg and began a life-long career as a Certified Public Accountant that ended only days before he died. After moving cross-country to Los Angeles in 1970, Roy and Helene retired to Oakmont in Santa Rosa in 1990. This was the first of a number of retirements, none of which lasted. After Helene's death in 1995, he immersed himself in his work and family. Five years later, he met and married Helene Linson, who died in 2011. He is survived by his daughters Ronnie Campagna (Jim), Judy Radin (Chris Johnson), grandsons Scott Campagna (Jenny), David Campagna (Alison), Paul Campagna (Jennifer) and four great-grandchildren. His beloved sister, his third Helene, preceded him in death by six weeks. Roy is also survived by his brother Mel Chandler (Rita), brother-in-law Irwin Rosenberg (Barbara), and many nieces, nephews, friends and clients who all consider him part of their family. Funeral services were held on Friday, September 13, 2013 at Santa Rosa Memorial Park. Donations in Roy's honor can be sent to Friendship Circle, Congregation Shomrei Torah or Who Says I Can't Foundation, 2600 Bennett Valley Rd., Santa Rosa, CA 95405, founded by his nephew, Jothy Rosenberg.
