Passed away on July 6, 2014 after a short illness. Stanley was born in Chicago, Illinois on August 14, 1927 and with the Second World War going on, he joined the United States Marine Corps right after high school. He was proud to be a Marine, and served in the Korean War, and later in the Vietnam War as well as many deployments on ships and other training. He spent three years as a drill instructor at the Marine Corps Recruiting Depot in San Diego before retiring as a Gunnery Sargeant after 24 years. Stanley was a long time member of the St. Rose Catholic Church, a founding member of the Filipino American Community of Sonoma County and was loved by numerous family and friends. Stanley is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Elizabeth (Betty); his daughter Pauline Buie (Rory) and Linda Adams and numerous nieces and nephews. Stanley was predeceased by his many siblings. Family and friends are invited to a visitation at Daniels Chapel of the Roses July 9, 2014 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with a Vigil service beginning at 7:00 p.m. There will be a Funeral Mass at St Rose Catholic Church, 398 10th St, Santa Rosa, CA on Thursday, July 10, 2014, at 10:00 a.m., followed by a graveside service at Santa Rosa Memorial Park.
