Terry J. Myers, age 67, passed away March 13, 2013 after a short illness. He is survived by his loving wife, Michele Myers, his children Krystal Thistle (Kane) and Joel Myers (Debbie) and step-son Steven Carter (Shoshana). He will be missed by his grandchildren, Joel Myers, Jr., Jake Myers, Logan Thistle and Hailey Thistle. He is survived by his sister Melody Reynolds and many family members. After high school, Terry joined the US Navy MCB 128 Seabees where he did a tour of duty in Vietnam. In 1980, he became a volunteer firefighter with the Twin Hills/Gold Ridge Fire District and was the advisor of the Explorer Post from 1993-2003. He was very influential in the Explorer Academy which occurs during Easter break. Terry was a member of the California Firefighters Muster Association and the Woodland Ave Muster Team. He was an active member of the Redwood Empire Classic Chevy Club where he proudly owned a 1963 Ford Galaxie convertible and just recently presented his restored '55 Chevy pickup to club members who always gave him a bad time for owning a Ford. He retired after 12 years of dedicate service with the County of Sonoma as a Building Mechanic. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 22, at Pleasant Hills Memorial Park, 1700 Pleasant Hill Rd, Sebastopol. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his honor to the Gold Ridge Fire District Explorer Post 27/81, 1690 Waterthrough, Sebastopol, CA 95472.
