79 passed away peacefully at home with family by his side on Wednesday, March 12 2014 in Santa Rosa, California. Wesley was born in Bismarck, North Dakota to the late Otto and Arletta Altes. At the age of 12 Wesley and his family moved to Santa Rosa where he resided in beautiful Sonoma County. Wesley attended Santa Rosa High school and Santa Rosa Junior College. Out of college he served in the U.S. Navy. In 1961 he married his sweetheart Dee Pyke. He owned Altes Hydraulics and worked in sales until he retired in 2011. He had a love of family and spending time outdoors horseback riding, hiking, camping, fishing, and skiing all with eight kids in tow. He is survived by his wife Dee Altes of 53 years; his brother Bob Altes of Berkeley, CA; eight children: Ginee Fannin of Tacoma, WA, Cherie Simpson of Mill Valley, CA, Matt Altes of Shasta, CA, Monique Prudhomme of Nevada City, CA, Nanette Heun of Santa Rosa, CA, Alyse Nazaroff of Santa Rosa, CA, Sesi Teal of Costa Mesa, CA,and Mark Altes of Santa Rosa, CA. He is also survived by his 14 grandchildren, Sarah, Max, Jack McCoy, Henry, Colton, Wyatt, Madison, Tyler, Ava, Alexie, Siena, Giana and the 14th due to arrive in September. A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday March 16th at 2 p.m. at the Altes Home. Wesley's motto in life "Keep on Keepin' on". We love and miss you dearly.
