ROBERTS, JOE NATHAN - of Atlantic City, departed this life September 27, 2013. He was born March 19, 1922, to Fannie Early Robert and Lester Roberts in Waynesboro, GA. He spent his younger days in Adel, GA until he entered the Army in 1943. He fought in World War II and earned the Asiatic Pacific Service Medal, WWII Victory Medal and a Bronze Star. He was honorably discharged from his service to his country. Joe eventually moved to Atlantic City and began work at Atlantic City Medical Center. Where he would meet his wife of more than 55 years, Mary Ella Roberts. In his 30 years at the hospital, Joe worked in various departments â€" retiring as head of the mail room. He was also a member of Atlantic City Auxiliary Police Force. Joe enjoyed his retirement at home working on various projects that the reflected the trades he had learned - auto and watch repairs. He was a lover of music and television - especially Westerns. Joe is survived by: his wife, Mary Ella; children Stellzene Roberts and Ralph Hughley and a collections of grandkids, great grands, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 10A, Monday, October 7, 2013, Greenidge Funeral Home, 301 Absecon Boulevard, Atlantic City, where friends may call from 9A.
