SHANNON, LINDSEY SR. 74 - of Sicklerville and formerly of Atlantic City, departed this life and went home to be with The Lord on July 2, 2013 in the Kennedy Health System of Washington Twp. Born in Pleasantville to the late Helen and John W. Shannon, Sr., he attended the local public schools and later enlisted into the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked for many years as an Atlantic City Police officer where he served as Detective-Sergeant. A member of the P.B.A., he was also with the Internal Affairs Unit until he officially retired. A member of Venice Park United Methodist Church, he was also an avid golfer and enjoyed visiting the AC casinos. A daughter, Inez Rice and a son, Lindsey, Jr. preceded him in death. He is survived by: six daughters, Treva Dawkins (Harvey) of Phila., Pa., Sonta Shannon of Galloway, Tamika Shannon (his care-taker) and Rashida Reynolds (Sean), both of Sicklerville, Domonique Shannon of Mays Landing and Rita Lantz (Jason) of Pleasantville; one son, LaMar Boston, Sr. of AC; one sister, Dorothy "Dee Dee" Shannon of Wash., DC; five brothers, John Shannon , Jr. of Phila., Pa., Richard Shannon (Nancy) and Matthew Shannon, Esq., both of Wash., DC, Latullah Shannon (Sabriya) of AC and Rahman Ali of Mays Landing, NJ; 19 grandchilden; three great-grandchildren; his ex-wife and friend, Kim Shannon; two special buddies, Bahadour Ali and Rob and a host of other loving relatives and many friends. A Funeral service of love will be held on Sat., July 6, 2013 at 11am at Union Baptist Temple, Pennsylvania and Adriatic Avenues. Viewing at church from 9am to 11am.
