Reich - Claudia Marlene (Mackie) April 2, 1946- September 27, 2013 The family of Claudia Reich is saddened to announce her passing on September 27, 2013 at the Prince George Hospital. Claudia was born in Calgary, AB to parents Claude and Margaret Mackie and was raised in the Strathmore, AB district. Claudia married young and had 4 children. In 1968 Claudia re-located her young family to Valemount, BC. Claudia loved living in the small community town surrounded by the mountains. In 1984 Claudia married Herman (Junior) Reich, they moved to Tumbler Ridge, BC. In 1987 Claudia and Herman moved to Prince George, BC where they have resided for the past 26 years. Claudia struggled with heart disease since 2000, was a breast cancer survivor, and yet very few knew how sick she was. She was an amazing wife, Mom, Grandma, Gr. Grandma and friend a true inspiration to all who knew her. Claudia never judged anyone, was always willing to listen, had a heart of gold, great sense of humor and was very witty. Claudia was a gentle soft spoken lady, and was very loved by everyone. She enjoyed doing crafts, which started out with crocheting doilies, afghans, knitting sweaters and sewing. She then moved on to painting, baking, and wood-burning. Wood-burning was her passion. Claudia and Herman took up going to the Farmer's Market to sell all their woodworking and crafts. She really enjoyed spending Saturdays at the Market visiting everyone. Claudia was predeceased by her parents; Claude and Margaret Mackie, sisters; Mavis Schuman (Homer) and Marge Vermont (John), grandson; Jordan Apps, mother-in-law; Tillie Reich and her best friend; Daphne Berglund (Lawrence). She is survived by her husband; Herman (Junior) Reich of Prince George, BC, her children; Sandy Matt of Kamloops, BC, John Matt of Kamloops, BC, Jason Matt (Shelly) of Maple Ridge, BC, Karyn Apps (Bruce) of Prince George, BC, her grandchildren; Kevin (Tiffany), Michael (Stacey), Derek, Samantha, Dustin, Cole, and Brooklyn, Gr. Grandchildren; Kalica, Kacoda, Kevin Jr. and one on the way. Memorial service to be announced at a later date.
