Jean Summerville Mazzei, 86, of Hopewell, passed away Saturday, March 8, 2014, at her home.

Mrs. Mazzei was a member of the Women of the Moose, former owner of Mazzei's Duplex Market and a member of St. James Catholic Church. Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Pasquale "Pat" Mazzei Sr.; son, Mike Mazzei; brother, Billy MacFadyen; and a sister, Nina Colburn.

She is survived by two sons, Francis Mazzei and his wife, Terra, Pasquale Mazzei and his wife, Mary; a daughter, Susie Bell and her husband, Mike; 13 grandchildren, Shay, Shasta, Pasquale, Anna, Frankie, Belinda, Angelo, Victor, Jason, Ashley, Jessica, Willie and Nina; sixteen great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary McPhearson and Isobel Jones; also several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 12, 2014, at the Memorial Funeral Home, 214 N. 6th Ave., Hopewell, Va. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, March 13, 2014, at the St. James Catholic Church with Father Frank Wiggins officiating. Interment will follow in Appomattox Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to ALSAC-St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Condolences may be registered at:
