Mr. Jonathan Cragg, age 98, of Dinwiddie, Va., entered into eternal rest on Saturday, June 28, 2014, at his home. He was born on April 16, 1916, to the late Arthur and Anarchy Jordan Cragg. He was preceded in death by his brothers, James, Oscar, Garfield and Reuben Cragg; and sisters, Julia C. Bradley, Augusta C. Parker and Annie C. Stokes.

He was a lifelong member of Shiloh Baptist Church-Dinwiddie, where he served for many years as chairman of the Deacon Board and Missionary treasurer. He was also a member of the Shiloh Senior Choir, Shiloh Gospel Chorus and Pastor's Aid Ministry. He served in the U.S. Army and retired from the Veterans Administration. Mr. Cragg was an avid hunter and member of the Cut Bank Hunt Club, member of the Four Echoes Quartet, Dinwiddie Food Bank volunteer, and gardener.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 60 years, Mary Louise Cragg of the home; three nephews, Roylee Cragg, Selman Craig and William "Chris" Bland; three nieces, Ellen Knight, Rosalee Edmendson and Deirdre Bland; two brothers-in-law, James Bland (Katherine) and William "Peter" Bland (Delores); a host of great-nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
The family would like to thank those that graciously gave of their time to assist the family during his time of illness, Thomas Wynn, Morris and Ida Hardy, Thomas Jordan, Carl Morgan, Ethel Jordan, Nelson King, Ann Jones, and caregivers Emma Watkins, Alma Wynn, Ora Wyatt and Selia "Sueteene" Harris.
A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 2, 2014, at Shiloh Baptist Church, Dinwiddie, Va., with the Rev. David L. Banks Sr., pastor, officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. The remains will lie in state at the church one hour prior to services. The family will assemble at the residence at 10 a.m. on the day of the service for procession.
