GALLUCCI, ANTHONY J. 85, of Lakeland, FL, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 25, 2013 surrounded by his loving family in Rhode Island. He was the beloved husband of the late Pauline B. (St. Jean) Gallucci. They were married for 62 years. Born in West Warwick, he was the son of the late Michael and Angelina (DeCesare) Gallucci. Anthony served honorably in the US Army for 3 1/2 years as a vehicle inspector, stationed in Yokohama, Japan. He took his expertise to Quonset Point Naval Station, where he worked for twenty-nine years as an aircraft inspector for quality control and was a lead mechanic for the Blue Angels. His expertise was recognized and he was chosen to serve as a quality control expert where he traveled extensively throughout the United States, Japan, Guam, Philippines, Thailand, Panama, Vietnam, Germany, France, and Holland. He is survived by his daughters, Janis Campagnone of Sandwich, MA and Debra Corey of North Kingstown; and niece Earleen Wahl of West Warwick; three grandchildren, Christopher Lawrence of Warwick, Travis and Giana Campagnone of Plymouth, MA; and one great grandchild, Giuliana Campagnone and is also survived by brother, Carmine and sisters Carmela Grimes and Assunta Pouliot. He is predeceased by his son-in-law, Robert Campagnone and grandson, Derek Campagnone; nephews, George Wahl and Kaare Wahl. He was the brother of the late Carmela, Louis, and Anna Wetherell. Mr. Gallucci will be sadly missed by his loving family and extended circle of friends in Lakeland, Florida and throughout Rhode Island. His Funeral will be held Saturday, December 28, 2013 at 8:30 am from the IANNOTTI Funeral Home, 415 Washington St. (Rte.117), Coventry, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 am in Sacred Heart Church, West Warwick. Interment with military honors will follow in the RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Visiting hours Friday (TODAY) 5-7 pm.
