APPOLONIA, GEORGE H. 63, of Pawcatuck, Connecticut and formerly of Coventry, passed away on Monday, August 4, 2014 at RI Hospital. He was the husband of the late Rosemary J. (Medeiros) Appolonia and the son of the late John and Lillian (Syverson) Appolonia. George was a chauffeur for the Foxwoods Resort Casino for 18 years. He also drove bus, limousine and taxi for many years. He enjoyed his family and grandchildren. He was a US Army veteran of the Vietnam War. George had a great sense of humor, he will be sorely missed. He was the father of John A. Appolonia and his wife Erin of Coventry and Anthony G. Appolonia and his wife Colleen of Woonsocket; grandfather of four; brother of Patricia Appolonia of West Warwick, Linda Rebello of Coventry and the late John Appolonia, Dolores Ruston and Beverly Tolman. His funeral will be Friday at 8:00 am from the IANNOTTI Funeral Home, 415 Washington St., (Rte. 117) Coventry, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 am in SS John & Paul Church. Interment with military honors in RI Veterans Cemetery. Visiting hours Thursday 4-7 pm. iannottifh.com
