COFFEY, JOSEPH D., 25, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, October 26, 2013. Born in Warwick, he was the beloved son of Vincent M. Coffey and Kristine R. (Meinel) Coffey, RN; devoted and loving father of Juliana L. Medeiros-Coffey; devoted and loving brother of Jared R. Coffey and Jillian E. Coffey; grandson of Anna Rounds and the late Stephen and Barbara Meinel. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Joe was a graduate of Warwick Veterans Memorial High School Class of 2006, served in the US Marine Corp Reserves, and had been employed in retail sales. He was a member of the Warwick Boys and Girls Club and played in the George Schmeider Memorial Basketball League. Joe was an avid Dallas Cowboys and New York Knicks fan and had a smile that could launch a thousand ships. His funeral will be held Thursday, October 31, 2013 at 8:45 am from the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave. with a service in St. Mark's Episcopal Church, 111 West Shore Road at 10 am. Burial will be in Pawtuxet Memorial Park. Visiting hours Wednesday 4-8 PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory to the Juliana Medeiros-Coffey Education Fund, 258 Asylum Rd, Warwick, RI 02886 will be appreciated.
