DeMARS, TED 63, formerly of Cranston and Providence, died suddenly at his home on August 23, 2014. He was the long time companion of Linda Yaskovic. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late James and Frances DeMars. He was a graduate of Classical High School class of 1969, Captain of the football team, and was a Providence Journal Honor Roll Boy. He was Allstate with Track and Field and Football. He was a graduate of Harvard University class of 1973 and was also Captain of the football team. Ted was inducted into the Harvard Varsity Club Hall of Fame in 1999. He is survived by his sister Bonnie, his brothers Richard, James, and Paul and his wife Lisa. He was predeceased by his brother, Barrie DeMars. He also leaves his nieces and nephews; Justin, Stacy, Daniel, Cadence, Rachel, Meghan, Francesca, and Joseph and his grandnephew, Bryan. Per Ted's wishes, services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, RI Chapter, 205 Hallene Rd., Warwick, RI 02886 or to RI SPCA, 186 Amaral St., Riverside, RI 02915.
