Ronald Hurst Obituary

HURST, RONALD, 77, of Providence, passed away Friday, September 23, 2016 at Hopkins Manor. He was the former husband of the late Catherine L. (Gautieri) Hurst. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Alonzo "Pop" and Queenie "Nana" (Saxon) Hurst. Ron was a computer engineer for many of the country's largest computer firms, including I B M, Wang, and Control Data during his long career in the data industry. He also served his country honorably in the United States Navy. He leaves four sons, Ronald Hurst Jr., Randolph Hurst, Robert Hurst and Regan Hurst; a daughter, Amy Hurst; a brother, John Hurst; two sisters, Eleanor Fenley and Frances Magnan; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was a brother of the late Ken Hurst. The funeral service and visitation will be Wednesday, from 10:00 am - 12:00 noon, in the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence.
