Glenn D. Ulrich Glenn D. Ulrich, 82, of Waynesboro, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 28, 2013. Born March 17, 1931, in Chambersburg, he was the son of the late George and Violet (Freeman) Ulrich. Mr. Ulrich served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He and his wife of over 56 years, the late Mabel G. (Ickes) Ulrich, were married on October 5, 1957. Mrs. Ulrich died on December 3, 2013. Mr. Ulrich was employed at Letterkenny Army Depot, Chambersburg, Frick Company, Waynesboro, and The Nitterhouse Companies, Chambersburg. Following his retirement, he was a bus driver for Baer Buses for 10 years, retiring in 2011. He was a member of Life Gate Ministries, Waynesboro, and enjoyed time spent with family, reading his Bible, making people laugh, talking to anyone, and watching his westerns. He is survived by five children, G. David Ulrich and his wife Wanda of Waynesboro, Lori A. Shipp and her husband Harold of Chambersburg, and D. Michael Ulrich and his wife Ana, Randy E. Ulrich and Brian K. Ulrich and his wife Lisa, all of Waynesboro; 20 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Peg Hurd of Waynesboro; three brothers, Roy Ulrich, Terry Ulrich, and Carl Ulrich, all of Waynesboro; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two daughters, Connie and Tammy; two brothers, Robert O. Ulrich and George E. Ulrich, Jr., and one sister, Joyce Sprow. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 4, 2014 in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro, with Pastor Terry Ulrich and Pastor Delton Lehman officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Zion Cemetery, near Quincy. Military graveside honors will be conducted by the honor guard of Charles Nitterhouse V.F.W. Post #1599, Chambersburg. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services Saturday morning in the funeral home.
