Joseph G. Corso Joseph Gerald Corso, age 74, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away in the Chambersburg Hospital on Tuesday, July 23, 2013. Born in the Bronx, NY on August 6, 1938, he was the son of the late Frank and Dorothy RyckittaCorso. A U.S. Air Force veteran, Joe served honorably for 20 years, retiring in 1976. Mr. Corso continued his service at Letterkenny Army Depot for the last 33 years as a Patriot Missile Systems Electronics Mechanic. He enjoyed bowling, reading, travel, animals, and watching movies. Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Shirley Stevens Corso, whom he married on November 30, 1963; one sister, Annette T. Corso of New York City; three children, Christopher Michael Corso (wife April) of Chambersburg, PA, Ryckitta Michelle Short (husband Robert S. "Bob") of Mechanicsburg, PA, and Angela Marie Corso (fiance Sean Conn) of Pittsburgh, PA; six grandchildren, Blaine, Robert, and Amber Corso and Jennifer, Bobby, and Logan Short; and one great-granddaughter, Alexis Corso. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday, July 26, 2013 at 10 AM at Corpus Christi Catholic Church 320 Philadelphia Ave., Chambersburg, PA; where Rev. Fr. James R. O'Brien will celebrate. The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 25, 2013 from 6 -9 PM in the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA. Interment will follow the Mass in Parklawns Memorial Gardens, with military honors being provided by members of the Charles Nitterhouse Post 1599 VFW Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his name to the Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter, 5051 Letterkenny Rd., Chambersburg, PA 17202 or to the Local FSTU Chapter PA Wounded Warriors, c/o D.
