Joseph H. Ericson, Jr. Joseph Harold Ericson, Jr., 81 of West Chester, PA went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday May 13, 2014 at his home with his family by his side. Born in Portsmouth, VA he was the son of the late Major, Joseph H. Ericson, Sr. U.S. Army Retired and Gertrude "Mildred" Ollice Ericson. Joe was an honors graduate of Chambersburg High School, and later graduated Cum Laude in 1957 from Penn State University where he majored in Business and Accounting. Joe served in the Army during the Korean War, receiving three battle stars. His working career began at Ford Motor Company then spent 25 years in the controller's office for Lukens Steel, controller for five years at Strescon Industries and for five years at the Chester County's Mental Health and Mental Rehabilitation Office. For the last ten years of his life, Joe worked part-time as a court clerk for the Chester County Clerk of Courts Office and volunteered at the Chester County Hospital. He was a member of the West Chester Golf and Country Club. He is survived by his wife Laura Chandler Ericson, daughters, Cynthia Dawn Ericson wife of Gary Stephen Beideman, Jennifer Beth Ericson wife of Tom Malesic, siblings, Gloria Ericson Edwards, Robert Ericson, David Ericson, Karl Ericson, grandson, Ryan Ericson Malesic, and "Bonus" grandchildren, Rob and Julie Beideman. He was preceded in death by his son, Stephen Chandler Ericson. Relatives and friends are invited to his Funeral Service 11am Friday, May 16, 2014 at the Goshen Baptist Church 1451 West Chester Pike West Chester where visitation will begin at 10 am. Interment will be held at Green Mount Cemetery, West Chester PA.
