Julien W. Vinck Jr. Julien W. "Chip" Vinck Jr, age 68 of Fairway Dr. West Fayetteville, PA died unexpectedly at 9:57 PM Monday, July 14, 2014 in the Memorial University Medical Center in Savannah Georgia. Born November 27, 1945 in Chicago, Illinois, he was the son of the late Julien W. Vinck Sr. and Edna H. (Rinck) Vinck. He married Connie M. (Wolff) Vinck on July 1, 1989 in Baltimore, MD. He graduated in 1964 from Catonsville High School in Baltimore and attended Catonsville Community College. Julien entered the Navy on September 15, 1965 and served aboard the USS Semmes DDG-18. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He worked for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for 35 years as an electronic tech and later as a program manager in Washington DC as an information security specialist. He retired in 2002. He was actively involved in the Celebrate Recovery, Franklin County Prison Ministries through the Otterbein Church of Waynesboro and also Jesus Ministries at Agape Farms. He was a member of the Otterbein Church of Waynesboro. Julien "Chip" loved serving the Lord by helping the "Least Of These". He also was on the Advocacy Council at the VA Center in Martinsburg West Virginia and was a court appointed special advocate for foster care children. Surviving family in addition to his wife are; one daughter Nicole E. Thrift and husband Kenneth of Taneytown, MD, two sons, Scott J. Vinck of Hagerstown, MD, Gregory J. Vinck and wife Melinda of Southport, NC, six grandchildren Matthew W. Thrift, Jenna R. Thrift, Faith M. Thrift, Izaiah C. Brumfield, Westin D. Vinck, Cole E. Cray, one sister June R. Vinck of Fayetteville, PA, one brother Ernie G. Vinck and wife Carol of Lewisburg, PA and 16 nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Monday July 21 at 11:00 AM from the Otterbein Church 801 Park St. Waynesboro, PA with Rev. John Hoffman officiating. Burial will be in the Browns Mill Cemetery Kauffman, PA. with military honors provided by the Chambersburg V.F. W. Honor Guard Post #1599. The family will receive friends on Sunday evening from 6 - 8 PM at the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home 45 S. Carlisle St. Greencastle and at the church one hour before the service on Monday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given in his memory to the Celebrate Recovery Prison Ministries of Otterbein Church 801 Park St. Waynesboro, PA 17268.
