Lonnie Krueger, II Mr. Lonnie Lee Krueger II, 28, of Chambersburg, died unexpectedly on February 27, 2014. He was the husband of Brittany (Hawkins) Krueger, whom he married on August 2, 2009. He was the son of the late Renee Higginbotham of Pittsburgh. Lonnie was born August 26, 1985 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and graduated Class of 2005 from James Buchanan High School in Mercersburg. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 2009 and served as a Fire Support Specialist in the 82nd Airborne Division. While in the army, during his career as a Paratrooper, Lonnie received the Meritorious Unit Commendation, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Medal and Iraq Campaign Medal with a Campaign Star. After enduring multiple injuries through out his service, he medically retired from the Army in May 2013. In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by three brothers, Jesse Krueger, Alec Downs, and Johnny Hajek and wife Jordan; a godson, Ayden Gordon, and a niece, nephews and other relatives. In addition, he loved his four legged children Aries, Simba and Butters. He enjoyed video games, science fiction/fantasy movies, novels and the music of Eminem. Lonnie was known for his unique sense of humor, infectious smile and contagious laughter. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, March 5th from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Chapel Mausoleum of Resthaven Memorial Gardens, 9501 U.S. Route 15 N in Frederick, Md., where a funeral service will take place at 2 p.m. Interment with military honors will follow in Resthaven Memorial Gardens; the Rev. Jeanette "Shelly" Eggleton will officiate. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lonnie Lee Krueger II Memorial Fund, payable to Brittany Krueger at Patriot Federal Credit Union, 800 Wayne Ave., Chambersburg, PA 17201. Arrangements are with Resthaven Funeral Services in Frederick.
