Lucille Wingert Lucille Wingert Ph.D., 84, formerly of Lancaster and Mechanicsburg, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, February 9, 2014, at Messiah Village. Born October 4, 1929, in Sandusky, Mich., she was a daughter of the late Samuel A. and Lois (Wolgemuth) Lady. Lucille received her Doctorate in early childhood education at Vanderbilt University. She taught at the following schools and universities: Warren County School System in McMinnville, Tenn., Messiah College, Shippensburg University, and the Lancaster Mennonite Schools. Lucille was also employed by Millersville Youth Village, Brethren in Christ Foster Care and Bethany Christian Services, where she was an Administrator. She was a private harp and piano instructor for many years. As a pastor's wife, she was active in various supportive roles in the church, especially the music ministry. Lucille is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, the Rev. Gerald N. Wingert; four daughters, Sylvia Zook and husband James of Mountville, Anita Keagy and husband Paul of Washington Boro, Judy Mellinger and husband Eugene of Mount Joy, and Lorene Mylin and husband Leland of Shiremanstown; son, Royce Wingert and wife Becky Light of Lititz; three sisters, Eunice Boyer and husband Eugene of Lancaster, Dorcas Good and husband Dennis of Upland, Calif., and Ruth Lady Paran and husband Robert of Mechanicsburg; brother, Charles S. Lady of Mechanicsburg; 15 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Her family will always remember her as a loving wife and mother who possessed godly character and a heart of compassion for others. Memorial services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, March 2, 2014 at Messiah Village, 100 Mt. Allen Drive, Mechanicsburg. Burial will be held privately at Manor Brethren in Christ Church Cemetery.
