Ray Brown, Jr. Ray Brown, Jr, 86, of Chambersburg passed away on Monday, June 16, 2014, at Falling Spring Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born September 5, 1927, in Gardner, PA, the son of the late Ray and Clara (Hockenberry) Brown. He served in the U.S. Navy as a Seabee, stopping at Pearl Harbor on his way to the Philippines. He worked at the Light Plant in the Chambersburg Borough, retiring in the early 1990s. He enjoyed western movies and spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Janet L. (Deitzel) Brown; three children: Jaylene (wife of Lynn) Gsell, Thomas R. and Robert A. Brown; two grandchildren: Melinda (Mrs. Steven) Ralston, Steven (husband of Kerri) Gsell; one great-grandson, Eli Gsell; a sister, Thelma Umbrell; and three brothers-in-law: Richard, Jim and John Deitzel. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two brothers: Paul and Roy Brown. Funeral Services will be held 2 pm on Friday, June 20, 2014 at the WF Sellers Funeral Home, with the Rev. Lester Stine officiating. There will be a visitation from 6-8 pm Thursday, June 19, 2014 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens.
