Terry L. Boyer Obituary
Terry L. Boyer Terry L. Boyer, age 69, of Chambersburg, passed away April 2, 2014 at home. He was born June 19, 1944 in Chambersburg, PA to George and Betty (Culbertson) Boyer. He served in the US Air Force during the Vietnam Era, after his graduation from CASHS in 1962. He retired as a Communications Specialist from the Department of Defense after 41 years, many of which were at Letterkenny Army Depot in Franklin County. He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman when he was younger. He enjoyed spending most of his time with his granddaughter, Karris. He was a member of the American Legion Post 46, Amvets Post 224 and VFW Post 1599. He is survived by his fiance of fourteen years, Patti S. Sheppard, his two daughters: Heidi J. Boyer of Alexandria, VA and Tina M. (wife of Adam Smith) Boyer-Smith of Phoenixville, PA. His mother, Betty Culbertson Boyer also survives him. He has two sisters: Nancy J. (wife of David) Garner of Pottstown, PA and Donna M. (wife of William) Peck of Abingdon, MD. Terry has two step-children: Jason K. (husband of Beth) Houser of Newville, PA and Heather D. (companion of Robert Marshall) Houser of Scotland, PA and a granddaughter, Karris P. Marshall. He also has two nieces: Bethany A.(wife of Wesley) Goodman and Michelle A. Peck and a nephew, Stephen J. Peck. He was preceded in death by his father and a sister, Brenda S. Boyer. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, Ltd., Chambersburg with the Rev. James Fox officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 till 8:00 PM on Monday evening and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. Interment will be held at Norland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial donations be sent to the 610 Community Way, Lancaster, PA 17603. Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, 725 Norland Ave, Chambersburg, PA will be handling the arrangements.
