Henry C. Angle

Henry C. Angle Henry C. Angle, 93, of Lemasters, died at 11:40 a.m. February 2, 2014, at Falling Spring Nursing Center, Chambersburg. Born July 29, 1920, at Greencastle, he was a son of the late Russell and Leah N. Grosh Angle. Henry served 20 years with the U.S. Air Force and retired as a Tech Sergeant on October 1, 1962. He served during World War II and the Korean War. During his Air Force career, he was assigned to a number of bases throughout the world, including Asia, The Americas, The Azores, Europe, Greenland, and Hawaii. Following his discharge, he was a self-employed carpenter and drove buses for Paul Maun and later Friese Bus Lines. Lastly, he was employed by the Tuscarora School District in multiple positions for over 40 years. His memberships include St. Stephen's UCC of Upton, Edward Parnell Ruritan Club, Lemasters Community Center Association, and life member of American Legion Post #517 of Mercersburg. He was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline V. Heckman Angle, who died August 26, 2007, and his siblings, Hazel, Noble, Fred, Thelma, and Eva. Surviving family include two sons, Terry C. Angle of Fayetteville and Larry D. and wife Heather Angle of Mercersburg; three grandchildren, Heather Burkett, Bailey Angle, and Emma Angle; and a great-grandchild, Ty Robinson. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, February 6 at Lininger-Fries Funeral Home, Inc., Mercersburg, with Pastor Harold E. Yeager officiating. Burial will be at Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg. Viewing 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
