Burt was born in Bovey, Mn. At the age of nine his family moved to Berkeley, Ca. After graduating from Berkeley HS Burt enlisted in the US Army. He served proudly with the 25th Infantry Division during the Korean War, earning the Combat Infantryman Badge.

Returning to California, Burt met the love of his life, Janet Kiloh, and they were married in 1956. They made their home in Walnut Creek where they raised their three children, Glenn (deceased), Pattie (husband Gene) and Michael. Burt was a career firefighter with Contra Costa Consolidated Fire District, retiring as an engineer after 25 years of service. Burt and Janet moved to Hidden Valley where they had many great years hiking, golfing and sharing time with their grandkids Michael, Jessica, Jed and Zack. Thanksgiving was always a special time when Burt would take all the boys pheasant hunting.

In 2001 Burt and Janet moved to Reno. Burt continued to fish and garden, two of his favorite pastimes. He enjoyed visits from his great grand kids, Hanna and Paige. He was active with the Korean War Veterans and was happy when the Korean War Memorial was dedicated at the Veterans Cemetery. Burt's final resting place will be at the Northern Nevada Veterans Cemetery in Fernley, Nv. Services will be held at the cemetery 11:00 July 21.
