Delmas Whittaker, Sr.

Delmas Whittaker, Sr. of Reno, Nevada passed away on 5 February 2013. The memorial service will be held at National Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, Fernley, Nevada. Time and date to be disseminated via family and friends.

Delmas Whittaker Sr. was born in Madisonville, Texas on 13 November 1930 and raised in Houston, Texas. He joined the U.S. Air Force in 1947. Delmas relocated to Reno, Nevada in 1973.

Delmas Sr. worked as a Keno Supervisor for Club Cal Neva and Sands Hotel and Casino. He proudly serviced the Gambling Industry for over 30 years. He truly had a compassion for the game of KENO and enjoyed helping others to understand the game of Keno. Delmas Sr. proudly served 10 years in the United States Air Force as an Air Traffic Controller during the Korean conflict. He has always been a proud supporter of military veterans.

Delmas Sr. is survived by sisters and brother; Gloria Jean Roberts, Veleta Wilson, Archie Webber, his sons, Delmas, Jr., Darren, Georgia Thompkins (step-daughter), Patricia Whittaker (daughter-in-law), and grandchildren, Brandon Whittaker, Zachary Whittaker and other family and friends.

Further information about the memorial services will be disseminated via family and friends. The family of Delmas Whittaker, Sr. wishes to thank Rodd and Bonni Walker, the Steven's Family, his second family at Rail City Casino for their continued love and support as well as the outstanding care provided by staff physicians, nurses, social workers and administrative personnel at the Veterans Administration.
