Duane passed away peacefully on the "opening day of deer season". Born in Bishop, California to his loving parents Charles and Marion Scott, and was the oldest of three children. Duane was preceded in death by his parents, and his younger brother Roger Scott, and his loving wife Joyce Paine. Duane graduated from Bishop High School, as a strong talented athlete earning an athletic scholarship and went on to play football and baseball for Taft College and later played football for the University of the Pacific, graduating in 1960 with a Bachelor's Degree in Business.

Duane is survived by his sister and brother-in-law Ruth and Cap Aubrey of Bishop, along with his three children Lisa Lommori and her husband Fred from Bishop, California, daughter Kelly Langley and her husband Ralph, children Jessica and Kevin from Reno, and son Terry Scott, and his wife Jennifer, children Mitch & Brendan from Reno. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews: Terri Ditty, Cap Aubrey, Brandie Scott and Tommy Scott all from Bishop, along with Sister-in-law Shirley and her husband Don Yerian, and their four children Jerry Yerian, Ronald Yerian, Kimberly Stroup from Tracy, California and Lori Dentinger from Nevada City, Nevada. Duane will be dearly missed by all.

He married Joyce (Paine) while attending college. After completion of his education and work in sales and ownership of a restaurant, he and Joyce moved to Reno in 1966 where he was a Financial Advisor for a number of Stock brokerage firms including Walston & Company, Paine Webber, and Dean Witter which merged with Morgan Stanley prior to his retirement in 2001. They raised their family in Reno before moving back to Bishop in 1978 where Duane was instrumental in opening the Dean Witter/ Morgan Stanley office as branch manager in Bishop.

He was an active member in the community as a member in several of the local service organizations. He served in the Reno Elks Club as Exalted Ruler, President of the Bishop Rotary Club, and President of the Bishop Gun Club and was a lifetime member of the Bishop Country Golf Club, along with numerous other offices held in each of these organizations.

Duane was also an avid outdoorsman, enjoying fishing, hunting, and hiking. He was an excellent trap shooter winning numerous titles including, Nevada State Handicap Championship, and was on the California State Championship team that went to the National Championships in Ohio. He also at one time was on the team that held the world record doubles score. An avid hunter he hunted the western states and Canada for deer, elk and antelope. He was also a skilled fisherman preferring a fly rod.

For those that knew Duane, they would agree…how ironic that he passed away on the "opening day of deer season". He will be forever missed, and never forgotten.
