Floyd, known to his friends as Wes or 'Kelly" passed away at the VA hospital in Reno. He was preceded in death by his wife Marjorie Roberts Burnett Kelly in 2009. He is survived by his daughters Claire (Sparks, NV), Lauren (Surprise, AZ), sisters Doris McGuire (Tulsa, OK), Alice Hargrove (Tulsa, OK) and numerous nieces and nephews scattered around the United States.
Wes served in the navy during the last years of WWII, honorably discharged in 1949 he settled in San Diego after the war. He met and married Marjorie in 1954, fathered two children and learned a trade as a journeyman painter. In the early 60's he relocated his family to Nevada. He retired from Washoe County in 1991.
Dad was a generous man to his family and friends. He loved to bowl, watch golf, baseball and play cribbage and poker. Mostly he loved to joke around with his friends; he always had a story to share. For years you could find him on Saturday mornings having breakfast with the guys he worked with for many years.
Per his wishes a celebration of life will be held on September 11, 2013 at the Villas (1900 E. Prater Way in Sparks), at 4pm.
